Young people involved with In Harmony begin their musical journey from as young as two years old and are able to stay learning, playing and creating music with us until aged 18 or beyond. When they reach Year 2 (6-7 years old) they begin learning orchestral instruments in orchestras as well as smaller instrumental sessions.
At In Harmony we focus on inclusion, collaboration, peer learning and creativity. The programme aims to support the holistic development of children using music as the vehicle. To this end, we try to create opportunities for young people to thrive, explore their potential and achieve at whatever level they are able. You can see some of the projects and performances we have done which enable this on the media page.
In Harmony is a partnership between a number of organisations. You can find out more about the programme’s partners by clicking on the logos below.
The programme is funded by Arts Council England, along with substantial financial support from the four schools involved. We also fundraise to enable us to provide additional musical opportunities for the young people and their families.
